By virtue of her husband's background, she was eligible to receive dual citizenship in the land of gay marriage and a health insurance mandate. She is eligible to run for office but says, "As you can see, there is a lot of competition behind me that I would have to run against, and it would be very stiff, because they’re very good."

Personally, I think she's doing it to convert her currency.

This is the country that gave women the vote in 1971. Seriously, 1971

I worked there at the time and it was bizarro world.

"Kinder, Kirche und Kuche" (children, church and kitchen) pretty much summed up the anti-women vote

If Bachmann spoke German she'd have a heyday there.

    Tea Party Uber Alles.

Obscure procedural question - Would she be able to hold office in the USA and Switzerland at the same time?

And won't be missed for one single, solitary minute -- other than as a vehicle for meaningful comic relief.

Holding political office in another country is one of the few ways you can involuntarily lose your US citizenship.

But on a lighter note, the president will support Bachmann's husband's second marriage.
