Mere Coincidence? (BTW, it's more politics, just to warn you now)

Come on, pallister. This was a (by all accounts) a good officer and a quality lawyer. He was passed over for promotion for doing his job. Fuck politics, it's a matter of right and wrong.

So the guy's sufficiently good that at his job as a lawyer that he won a Supreme Court argument against presidential policy, but he's not good enough for promotion?

Fannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnntastic logic employed there. Wish I could see the personnel file. I bet the reasoning's a hoot.

"Swift must be passed over for promotion because he is not a good attorney lost the last major case he argued doesn't do the 3-inch fold-down thing we like to see on Navy beds. Yeah, that's it."

  8. To be honest, Swift has been saying this might happen for a couple of years now.
He did a great job in the finest traditions of the armed forces, which take oaths to defend the Constitution, and not a feckless president and an incompetent SecDef. He's the Hugh Thompson of the courtroom.
    He'll be fine.

He was too busy being little man's daddy and not spending enough time being big man's daddy. ;)

Apparently the lefties here believe this is the first case ever where a "qualified" individual didn't get the promotion he wanted. In other words, they're crying again.

You don't suppose there were a lot of "qualified" individuals who happened to be conservative that didn't get every promotion they wanted in the military from 1993-2000?

    Yeah, I thought so.

Points for the original tactic, old_t.

When you don't have a comeback, just cry that the Dems must have been even worse.
