    As I finally reach full member-hood, I almost blew it by posting too soon on the NFL thread, about the lameness of the Bears.

    But spared that pre-mature matriculation to the 5,000 post club, I will offer the following profound thoughts about SportsJournalists.com and the state of the journalism business:

    Drive offensively and F*$@ defensively.

    OK, semi-seriously, I wouldn't come on this site as often as I have over the past (nearly) six years if I didn't get laughs, insight and the occasional good idea for work here.

    Thanks for everyone who's put up with my 5,000 lame posts, and the nagging PMs about the football poll.
