Won't happen, but I'd like to see Aaron Brown do it.

Aaron Brown, heh. That'd be borderline hilarious.

I'll be very surprised if it doesn't go to Gregory.

And Aaron Brown is done. I'll be stunned if he ever gets another significant network gig.

I read her name as a possibility b/c her run at CBS is likely over soon, but if anyone at NBC gives any serious thought to Katie Couric, they should be fired.

    Easy choice: Nancy Grace

    Sirs, Madames,

In the realm of the outside-the-box:

One who has ridiculous talent and could take the show in another direction: Jeffrey Toobin. It seems like he can do anything he puts his mind to, a real all-arounder.

    YD&OHS, etc

Calm down. That was a joke.
Russert had no true peers, so it's no wonder picking his replacement is an almost impossible task. A few out-of-the-box candidates I think might be good are Ted Koppel and Thomas Friedman.

Toobin's very good, but I think he lacks the wonk-factor you have to have for that show.
Another good choice would be Brian Williams.
