I'd trade a toe for that job. Not nearly qualified, though :(

I thought this position had already been filled a while back.
  5. Solid knowledge of hockey: Check.
Strong media contacts in the Chicagoland area: Oh well. That, and I don't have the experience.
  6. A funny thing about the Blackhawks media relations staff is that they tend to take the top guy from the Chicago Wolves staff.

For the younger crowd, the Wolves offer a Media Relations internship every season --- this season's is obviously filled. It's a small price to pay if you're interested in working in a media relations department for a professional sports franchise ... but the past few years have been pretty good to the interns --- I think most, if not all, have been hired by the organization at the end of the year to replace the guy who left for the Blackhawks.
