That's true. But he only threw 20 innings that year anyway, 10 2-3 in '95 and 6 2-3 in '97.

We're on Page 3 of this, and no one said anything of the home run Devon White brought back from over the fence?

Game 3 exchange, about some esoteric pitching blather:

BUCK: It was like that years ago, but it's a different world now.

McCARVER: Yes. It's a different world in which we live.

Thank you, o great and mystical seer of all things.

He does it so often, it's become routine.

Why wasn't this titled "Sky Is Blue" or "Leaves Falling From Trees?" It's just as obvious.

All of the BlueJay mentions, and not one......not one of Lloyd Moseby and/or Jesse Barfield.

Brutal call missing the triple play against the Braves.

There's a kid named Roy Halladay coming through the minors in the Blue Jays farm system. He may be a good pitcher in the future.

Dave Winfield just hit a double down the left-field line. Though I really wanted them to bring in Rance Mulliniks for that at-bat. Oh well. Either way they can throw Turner Ward into left field defensively now that the lead is well in hand.

Two words for Juniors Buck and Caray: Pendleton Act.

No national penetration, no panache, no grace, no smoothness as craftsmen, just fortunate geek boys who were sons of fortunate fathers. Neither will be remembered the way they wish.

I grew up with McCarver so it's not so bad. McCarver is no different now than he was in 1986. Just Joe won't let him talk so much.
