Kobe Bryant said Tuesday he was "shocked" to receive a one-game suspension for hitting Manu Ginobili in the face on Sunday.
Bryant said he unintentionally elbowed Ginobili and felt "terrible" about the play. However, Bryant said he can't believe he was suspended.

"I'm blown away by it. It makes no sense," Bryant said.

Bryant's suspension also surprised Lakers coach Phil Jackson.

"I have been a little disappointed with how Kobe has been treated as a premier player," Jackson said.

Ummmm that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

I bet the fans at MSG are REALLY happy with Kobe missing the Lakers' only trip.

    Fuck David Stern.

One of the biggest superstars in sports is playing for your league. He unintentionally hits another player in the face. He apologizes. So what do you do?
You suspend him for the game that is played at the basketball mecca.

    Wow.Just wow.

    That's just incredible.

Unintentional hit in the face: One game.
Kevin Garnett INTETIONALLY throws a punch: One game.

If you finish on the grille, you must sit for a spell.

Kobe has appealed and will play tonight at MSG.

How would the NBA be able to play if that were truly the case?

They'll keep the Washington Generals on standby, in case someone decides to Sex the Mutumbo.

    Uh, no. Appeal quickly denied.

It's not baseball where if you appeal you can keep playing. An appeal will be heard at a later date and if it's overturned, Kobe will get his money back.
