The part of the story about stalking the son needs a lot more detail.

I was a bit confused - he told THE SON to talk to him or he'd have to write what he had? The son is/was 11? Something is off there.

Exactly. The NYDN had no real defense for Mehta badgering a child, so it tried to pass it off like this instead. Which is effed up.

That WaPo story was a really strong read. It does a good job of painting a full picture of what Mehta was like to his colleagues, which is a bit ridiculous.

There's an urban legend in Texas about a recruiting reporter who followed a recruit into a bathroom and was then banned from covering the team. The story actually ended up as part of a storyline in a Madden game.

Have any of Mehta's scoops been questioned other than the players ripping Tebow when he took a named player:s quotation out of context.

The Daily News. LOL Recall when the sports editor was diddling the HR lady, cheated on her, and she threw a cup of hot coffee in his face in the newsroom.

Emphasis on the word "appears." At least when I clicked on the above link, the page was blank except for his photo and the cutline "Manish Mehta was an NFL/Jets beat writer for 12 years" or some such thing. Nothing else.

This could mean nothing. Both NYDN and Sun-Sentinel are owned by Tribune. Sun-Sentinel may have picked up Mehta's content from time-to-time and ran it with his byline. Don't know that this indicates he has been picked up there.

Did a brief glance at the ex-Deadspin guy running NYDN sports department’s tweets to see if there was any more news about Manish. His feed is basically video games and tweets about how Nate Silver is racist. Seems weird.
