    Anytime a human is killed by another, it's a homicide. Very well could be this one is justifiable and no one is ever charged with a crime, but it's still homicide.

    That's why the distinction between "homicide" and "murder" is so important in crime reporting. One is necessarily a crime, the other isn't. They're not interchangeable.
