Mall shooting in Omaha

1 dead, sounds like the shooter killed himself.

However, this does not sound like he was after just a specific person.
That's the scary part.

The lede says multiple fatalities.

 

3 (all men) were sent to Neb. Med. Center, 3 others at Creighton U Med Center, where they have confirmed 2 are dead (one man, one woman). 

Details are still sketchy.  I watched KMTV's coverage online and there was an unconfirmed report that the gunman was apprehended, and there was a camera photo shot, but remember it's unconfirmed. 

 

5 dead according to an Omaha newspaper (forget which one, this was from CNN).

We know that one was in surgery at Nebraska Medical with a gunshot to the chest. 

EDIT: Omaha PD says it could be up to nine, including the shooter.

 

Too bad the bastards are always too gutless to face the music.

President Bush was in Omaha but had left about an hour before this happened.

 

So he's got an alibi.

There was also a grenade found in that mall's parking lot on Friday.
I think terrorism cannot be ruled out yet.

 

Sorry, as a reporter I look for all things noteworthy.

 

Flip around the TV in my neck o' the woods and only two channels are carrying this news. My gosh, has our society become this desensitized to shootings of this magnitude? Maybe it's still early yet, but damn, folks - 9 people dead. How so frickin' sad.
