Mags that do long-form

    Sometimes it's style fatigue (both from the writer and the editor) but I think it is most often a change of editors or editorial direction. Many long form writers are free lance, rather than full-time, in house staff and they're replaceable. Magazines change content focus all the time - what ran ten years ago might not run today, and if a writer hasn't changed... well, you're out. You can get pigeonholed, and if you don't adapt - or evolve into books or work in editorial yourself - the well often dries up.

    That's ridiculous. Any magazine that would publish that kind of longwinded horseshit deserves to fold.

    I'll add a couple I read monthly: Playboy and Portfolio.
