Long hours, low pay in Southern Oregon

    How bad do you want to be a reporter? Bad enough to work nights and weekends? The poor glutton for punishment that's chosen will cover city and county government. Sports and general interest feature stories.

    Is this really an actual ad? Or is someone tweaking the words?

    Whatever, I worked in that area, although not at that particular paper. Rue the day I ever moved there.

    Good for them. Love the honesty. Wonder how the EIC/corporate parent would feel about the ad, though -- watch out. :)

    They are much better off being honest than making it sound like the opportunity of a lifetime and have someone come in, find out the truth and start sending resumes out right after they arrive.

    The only paper in Southern Oregon worth working at is the Medford Mail-Tribune...stay away from all others, far away. Especially one like this in a more isolated town.

    Blow it out your ass, flex ... we're doing just fine at the GP Daily Courier, although yes, that's just because we're happy you're staying far, far away.

    No comment on the IV News, but the Illinois River has some of the finest swimming holes around.

    i don't think it's cute, awesome or funny. it's sad. especially since they'll get 75 resumes.
