Who needs an SUV when you could have had a Ford LTD Country Squire?

In 1977, I had my First Communion. I wore a blue & white patterned leisure suit with a "B" embroidered on the lapel, an outfit made by my grandmother. My younger brother wore a matching suit with his first initial embroidered as well. I guess my grandma loved Laverne & Shirley.

While these fashions are horrid, I think the reason for the fascination isn't just a look back and vomit. I think we're all a little jealous that there was a decade where people would, and could, try ANYTHING.

Like Frank, I'm a proud member of the class of '77. It was a huge day for some of my classmates when it was announced that Disneyland would allow men to wear leisure suits, as well as coats and ties, to Grad Night. My best friend went with a powder-blue number. I stuck with the old navy blazer and one of my dad's ties.

OK, confession time: I had that suit the guy on the right is wearing.
    My ex-wife loved it.

holy shit....when I was a kid people were always telling me I looked like Ricky Schroeder!! Not every so often, like anytime I'd leave the house...I hated it. But damn, I can see the resemblance now.

I remember everyone putting their names all over their t-shirts.......I'm sure some pedophile started that trend. "Hey Bobby!!!....you're Mom needs you, just get in the van and I'll take you there. Want some candy for the ride?"
