Saved for posterity as one of the five most idiotic posts in the history of SportsJournalists.com

To be fair, I'm not sure that's even in TSP's top 5, much less the whole board's.

Excellent point - though calling pedophilia a religious belief is pretty high on the idiocy scale even for him.

Plus, TSP, you should really love Sandusky and what he stands for since he is gay and that apparently is now the new litmus test for how great and courageous of a person you are.......

"Hey, this is the new America, you say your gay, you become a hero!!!!"

Based on the number of priests engaged in it, you'd think it is.

Sandusky never said he was gay. He always identified as straight.

The interpretation of the Bible, theology and Jesus has constantly changed over the centuries. This is nothing new.

Even the inclusive churches can find Biblical support for their stances, such as Corinthians 13:13 and the Golden Rule.

I'm sure everyone will defend you and praise you for ripping Catholics.

Rip Catholics and Christians for their lifestyle -- you are a hero
Rip Gays for their lifestyle - you are a bigot

Once again, Tolerance 101 from the tolerance and diversity crowd -- "We are tolerant of any belief and lifestyle as long as we agree with it....."

We should all take a moment to send an apology to Todd Akin. He obviously believed a woman can't get pregnant when she is raped, and he had the courage to stand by those beliefs. Why should he be criticized for that?

Or how about Al Campanis. What was he supposed to do, say blacks DO have the necessities to be in front offices if that isn't what in his heart?

If you go searching hard enough you can find an isolated scripture to justify any lifestyle.

    That doesn't make it right.

And fundamentalists and the fundamentals of sin and holiness have not evolved or changed.

Man may have evolved them and changed them, but they haven't changed.

And I hate that this is turning into a theological discussion as I am probably more anti-religion than most.
