There is no reason to read that paper anymore.

When Kravitz bails for a local gig after 15 years, you know things are bad.

Wow. Figured he'd be the last guy out the door at the Star. Can't imagine Gannett brings in another sports columnist, so we may soon see what a major metro looks like without one.

Maybe he refused the Party Crasher beat.

Is there another major metro that doesn't have a columnist? I'd assume there would be a few by now.

The Star also just lost Phil B. Wilson to Scout.com as its new Pacers & Colts publisher.

It won't fold, but Indy readers will be getting USA Today with a few inserts on local news.

Most of these local gigs with TV and radio stations don't have great security, especially if they paid Kravitz anything close to what he was getting at The Star. Maybe he's taken pay cuts over the years, but I remember when they lured him from the Rocky Mountain News. Word was they paid him well to make the move, which makes sense.

Is it bad form for me to say here how glad I am that I am no longer in the newspaper business?

Heard the Star countered, but the counter wasn't nearly enough. But, hey, it's not my newsroom...

That is a huge blow to the Star. Good for Bob.

Maybe the Star can use the columnist in Louisville since that's where it's getting its designers and copy editors.
