To my knowledge, Roethlisberger wasn't guilty of anything except poor judgment.

  2. Yes ....
Though a 51 year-old engaging in sex with a 15 year-old is pretty damn despicable any way you slice it.

If he knows she's 15, of course it is.

Okay, let's say it's a setup, the pimp beat her up, LT just happened to be at that hotel, they saw him and decided to fake a big drama, accuse him with rape, he had nothing to do with it, never met the girl, etc.

Seems like police could figure that out in about ten minutes. Innocent until proven guilty, absolutely.

But it's no accident the same guys are always around bad news.

On the "Are you surprised?" scale, this bottoms out.

Note, though, according to those stories that he wasn't charged with the assault.

And third degree rape in NYS is defined as follows:

§ 130.25 Rape in the third degree.
A person is guilty of rape in the third degree when:
    1. He or she engages in sexual intercourse with another person who is
incapable of consent by reason of some factor other than being less than
    seventeen years old;
    2. Being twenty-one years old or more, he or she engages in sexual
intercourse with another person less than seventeen years old; or
    3. He or she engages in sexual intercourse with another person without
such person's consent where such lack of consent is by reason of some
factor other than incapacity to consent.
Rape in the third degree is a class E felony.

  8. Statutory rape is typically a strict liability crime, so it doesn't matter if you knew the person was underage or not.

This is a message board, not a courtroom.

What the fuck does that even mean? No one 'has to'' rape anyone.

You've been hanging around too many human resources types.

That story didn't tie LT into it with any evidence yet, but it was sickening.

My LT story: I sat next to him on a puddle jumper flight from Akron, Ohio to a destination I have forgotten. It was one of those tiny planes and he is a very large man. There wasn't a lot of extra seat room. He didn't rape me, but I kind of felt violated (I hope that isn't insensitive; I don't want to make light of an alleged rape).

Dumbest defense argument ever. Neither did Mike Tyson. Neither did most rapists. That has nothing to do with it.
