LA Times-WashPost news service is kaput

    The Times and Post will now compete with each other. Six hundred clients worldwide affected. Tribune takeover of Times in 2000 also a factor, as Trib was competing with itself.

    Word is that the Post was upset that the Tribune-forced cuts at the Times diminished the quantity and quality of national and international stories. And the Post isn't wasting time, forming a partnership with Bloomberg.
