    Not to unjack the thread - but I found the article relating how many more golds the US might win if you had some of the studs from the team sports pursue individual events per the governments orders instead of going into sports where there might be more professional opportunities.

    I bow to your superior geekiness...and I mean that as a compliment.

    I remember watching Guo Jingjing win her gold medal in diving. I just happened to flip by and she was heading up to the board, trailing the Canadian diver but with the opportunity to win if she nailed the dive, which she did. I enjoyed watching an athlete come through in a spot like that.

    Now, after reading that she insulted her competition, I kinda wish she'd have done a belly flopper.
