    Smallpotatoes:

    BULL SHIT!

What makes more sensational headlines/TV... that's what it is all about.

Gosh, spnited, and you always seem like such a non-overreactive person.

I was talking more about the legal side of it than the media side.
But then again, I didn't go to law school.

Forget trying to figure out what is or isn't a hate crime, try figuring out how there can be a more severe punishment than the one for murder.

That's what blows my mind. You listen to these people talk about hate crimes and the one thing they always mention is that the penalties are more severe for a murder that's determined to be a hate crime. WTF? Why?

Seems to me hate crime or not, these guys are going to death row.

The entire concept of "hate crime" is a crock of shit... invented probably by some sensationalist TV producer who wanted better ratings and adapted by nut-job politicos with an agenda.

Five blacks killing two whites in no different than five whites killing two blacks ...

Somebody, please, tell me when the first "hate crime" was committed.

I have not seen it yet, but what part of town was this couple in when this happened? What time of night was it?

Oh, no fucking way am I buying "we targeted the four runner" for a second.

I hate to say it, but black on white crime, especially when no drugs are involved, is a man bites dog type of news story. If these people were car jacked in a middle class (or higher) neighborhood, then that is scary.

  9. Mafia hit.
    Pure business.
    No hate involved.
No less heinous but the "every murder is a hate crime" argument is a dodge.

So they can get a big last meal and last words and get put to beddy-bye sleep with some concentrated Sominex.

    Big deal.

It is still a sick act of hate at the core, no matter what sort of bow of a romanticized notion you put on it.

  12. I didn't romanticize it. I pointed out that, within the parameters of our discussion, is not in any way a "hate crime."
