Sounds like Lastings Milledge has left a favorable impression on veteran Mets:

Delgado was one Met who insisted yesterday he did not think there was an issue between Lastings Milledge and the elder Mets players.

"I don't think there's any kind of problem," Delgado said.

Friday night, there was a sign hanging over Milledge's locker that read "KNOW YOUR PLACE, ROOK!" and was signed from "your teammates."

    Yes - nice work f-b .

Not sure what happened but Willie Randolph actually got involved and took down sign. Rare event when mgr gets involved in clubhouse stuff.

Milledge did not win a lot of fans when he was high fiving fans after that early season HR.

My guess is that he is gone after this season- another of those "great" Met rookies.

How come you did not post it then dickhead?

Perhaps you did not want to draw attention to another Met failure. Rotation set for Playoffs ?

BTW - How do you like Willie Randolph now? . I know you did not want him as your mgr.

  8. Nice, del.
I'm just surprised that Lastings found his way out of the left-field corner of Fenway alive.

The Mets had the chance to trade Milledge and Heilman for Dontrelle Willis, and passed because they view Milledge as untouchable. Now we find out he's a class A immature asshole. Didn't anyone at Norfolk see this? Very rarely does an immature jerk athlete grow up and get his act together. Milledge's trade value just went through the floor, while the Mets lost their #1 starter for most of next year, maybe forever. Shame on Minaya for not dumping him when he could.

    Could Minaya have known?

That they wouldn't get off Milledge is why talks for some combination of Soriano/Hernandez/Vidro fell through.

One of the reasons the Norfolk Tides switched their affiliation from the Mets to the Orioles beginning next year is because neither Minaya nor his assistants took a trip there at all this year.

Wonder if Milledge refused to participate in the tradition of rookies wearing costumes on the team charter once in your rookie season?
