appreciate it. just sent a short note to ms. bernzen congratulating her on her classy move and wishing her the best in what hopefully will soon be her own job hunt.

This comment will probably ruffle a few feathers but that's okay....

We shouldn't be surprised at this. Afterall, this is a freakin' BLOGGER we're talking about. We're not talking about actual journalism where there are standards. We're talking about somebody who probably has little to no background or education in journalism. Yes, I know there are a lot of respected bloggers out there who are longtime journalism vets. But it kind of pissess me off sometimes when many bloggers think they are journalists even though they don't know the first thing about journalism. Just a fat guy typing in his underwear in his mom's basement. And yet these are the people who seem to have all the writing jobs right now while the rest of us (who actually went to journalism school) are being laid off. That blogger talked about what a hack Mike Hendricks is well what kind of a hack does it take to post someone's personal email? A "blogger," that's who.

I have two thoughts on this.
In this day and age, you have to be smart enough not to apply for a job with a snarky inquiry.
In this day and age, you have to be smart enough not to send a stupid inquiry to a blog.
Both failed ... miserably.

Really arrogant inquiry.

Apparently, he doesn't realize how expendable he really is.

So he's a columnist. Big deal. In this market, that doesn't mean crap.

 

I'm not offended by the blogger. Bloggers have no standards. I get it.

I'm not offended by the columnist. How he acts in search of a job can only hurt him. It doesn't hurt me.

I'm offended by the PR flack who sent the whole correspondence to a mean-spirited blog just because she is an asshole.

She has some explaining to do. And a resume to polish up.

 

I had looked at this job and contemplated applying before deciding I have no interest in what they do.

Not regretting that decision in the least.
