westcoastvol, the ads on the nightly news were all for stuff like that when I was a kid and there were only three networks and no Internet. I think their audience has ALWAYS skewed real old.

It could be a function of people taking the world more seriously as they get older. Newspaper readership has always skewed old, too, even in better times.

I take the world very seriously. The last place I'd go for information is Katie Couric.

I get the hyperbole but Katie is better than the North Korean news agency and Al-Queda Today.

Here's one thing that gets you out of the nightly news habit very quickly: children. Kids eat, or have sports practice, or SOMETHING that has to be done at 6:30 p.m. each night. I watched TV news in college because I had time on my hands -- the same reason old people do.

I love the Al Queda Today cooking segment.

I cannot see the name Katie Couric without thinking of this photo. It's a small part of the reason I can't take her seriously.

Curiously, I just became more interested in her.

There's nothing wrong with a woman wanting to shake her ass on the dance floor.

    That's odd, YF. :D

I could see her fist pumping on the Jersey Shore.
