Judge Judy has been named as a defendant in a lawsuit related to the divorce of one of her producers.

"I don't owe this lady a cent," Judy said. "And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off."

Aren't frivolous lawsuits what made Judge Judy rich and famous?

This is one of those instances in which one wants to call it irony. But irony is not the same as hypocrisy.

She became famous berating people for filing frivolous lawsuits, under the cover of arbitrating them

Damn, you beat me to the joke.
I wonder if most people know (or care) how that and shows like it work.
