    School and fans need a better understanding of what your job is. They win, you write about why they're winning. They lose, you write about why they're losing. This isn't any kind of topic for debate.

    It's easier to blame the media for poor attendance. Generally people love to go see a football team lose unless the newpaper is mean to them.

    I agree with this. Dropping coverage significantly because a preps or college team is losing is simply lame.

    Yorks, I think if the team's lack of success results in a substantial dropoff in attendance/interest, coverage can adjust accordingly.
