Say no to a confidentiality agreement.

Spill the beans. Let whoever it is face the music.

    Just let it go.

Is all this really worth it? Did this episode take food off your table in any way? Or are you motivated by ego?

I don't think it's a matter of ego as much as it is fairness. If it happened to you, would you walk away quietly -- especially when it happened by people who are supposed to know better than passing someone else's work off as their own?
WHOO WHOO!! NEWSFLASH!! Plagiarism is bad. Plagiarism should be punished. Plagiarism is stealing.

From now on, whenever I eat jambalaya, I'll be reminded of this post, and how fucking stupid it is.

Take the confidentiality agreement, get the $, and then tell your friends, especially those with the biggest mouths. Make sure you begin the story, 'I'm telling you this confidentially....'

Yet, he said there was no confidentiality agreement nor was one offered.

He said his publisher had made an offer that didn't include one. You gotta believe the other side will insist one before accepting the agreement.
