John Adams Running Thread

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Fenian_Bastard, Mar 16, 2008.

  1. I can't believe they skipped over Adams teaching in Worcester! That's where he learned everything he knew and where his courage was most tested.

I guess they were afraid to tell the real truth.

Ehh. If you're going to edit anything, edit Worcester.

    Oh hi Chris. What's shaking?

"Died on the Fourth of July" would have been a much sexier title.

  4. I got a kick out of the actor from Rome who played Cassius also playing Jonathan Sewell - the last British Attorney General of Massachusetts.

I am not sure about this yet. The cinematography is stunning and they nailed the period. It ran a little dry for me.

Man, do I have a thing for Laura Linney, though. I understand that Abigail Adams was the dish of her times, but let's face it, those pictures of her are not doing much for most of us. Laura Linney, though, is a ridiculously handsome woman who just seems like she would be a dream to spend time with. (Please don't destroy that with bad stories).

After episodes 1 and 2, I say to you sir, eh.

Of a possible five, I can give 'John Adams' only two Powdered Wigs.

The heart-shaped beauty mark means I killed a man in fop prison.

  10. Dead. To. Me.
Not too bad. I could have done without the very long segment about the pox, thank you.
Linney's good, and Tom Wilkinson is terrific. Jefferson looked extremely stoned through the whole thing.

The guy who played George Washington may not be able to act his way out of a paper bag, but jeez, could they have found someone who has the look down better? If I were him, I'd never take off the costume and walk around expecting people to call me the father of my country.

  12. It's David Morse, career supporting player in about 300 movies.
I thought the nose was a bit much.
