    The 1985 Chicago Bears are (rightly) lauded and spoken of in reverential tones. Yet, they're one of the few Super Bowl winners to not make a repeat appearance within a decade following their triumph. The NFC was so stacked during that era.

    It still amazes me the Bears never made it back. A group that just couldn't handle success.i believe the Bears lost at home the following three years in the playoffs.

    Agreed. Didn't they go 14-2 the year after the Super Bowl?

    Yeah, they lost to Washington in the playoffs. But I don't think they were going to beat the Giants that year anyway -- Giants were only a notch below the '85 Bears.

    Bears just never put the defense together like that after Buddy left.
