    The Braves guys didn't elevate their games in postseason.

    Probably why there's a perception.

    But, yes, facing pitchers is a nice numbers-deflater.

    Whoever it was who was referred to in the quote, "He learned to say hello when it was time to say goodbye" should sign over the rights to that to Jim Rice.

    Waited an awfully long time before someone ever described him as "gracious." A little more "gracious" during his career would have had him in the Hall sooner, I'd bet.
