Interesting interview in the NY Daily News with Jet LB DeMario Davis:

According to the scriptures, and God’s law, homosexuality is wrong. The act is wrong,” Davis said. “I’ve got homosexuals in my family who I love to death. I’ve got drunks in my family. I’ve got people who have premarital sex in my family. And I don’t agree with any of those things, but I still love and respect those people.”

i'm more anxious than ever for a J-E-T-S player to come out of the closet and kick this kid's royal ass... or for one of the team's trainers or doctors to come out and give this homophobe a tongue-lashing -- either literally or figuratively. he and 'his kind' need a dose of just SHUT THE EFF UP.

Even if homosexuality is a sin, it's not up to DeMario Davis to make the call. That's a few steps beyond his pay grade.

Why not ? Davis has a right to an opinion just like Kluwe who was celebrated for his.

Not a great career move at this point though given that he was just moving into
a starting position. Stupid move on his part. Stick to football.

I've got no problem with Davis saying what he wants to say. I stood up for Tim Thomas for saying what he wanted to say a few years ago. Vehemently.

Now: I would like Davis to defend his position, which he doesn't do here.

Since he relies on The Scriptures to make a judgement about sin, I would like him to authenticate The Scriptures.

Saying that your condemnation of homosexuality is premised on "Scripture" is not different than saying that your support of jihad is premised upon the Koran. It's religious dogma. It's not a defense. Not in 2013.
