The guy who co-wrote the Swift Boat book about Kerry has a book about Obama that is No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list.
I've flipped through it but haven't bought it.
I've heard some people say the Swift Boat book was filled with factual errors and other people say it was very accurate. I'm sure I'll hear the same about this book.
    How credible is Jerome Corsi?

Here's some stuff from Media Matters:

Summary: A WorldNetDaily.com article about author Jerome Corsi's forthcoming book, The Obama Nation, asserts that the book "points out" that "Barack Obama admitted using drugs in his autobiography but never revealed if or when he stopped." In fact, Obama wrote in his autobiography, Dreams from My Father, that he "stopped getting high" shortly after moving to New York City to attend Columbia University.

Promotional materials by Simon & Schuster for author Jerome Corsi's recently released book, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality, echo Corsi's false claim that Sen. Barack Obama's Global Poverty Act of 2007 "would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of Gross Domestic Product on foreign aid." Simon & Schuster's materials falsely assert that Obama has a "radical plan to tax Americans to fund a global-poverty-reduction program."

The Simon & Schuster release also states that "n this stunning and comprehensive new book, the reader will learn about ... Obama's naïve, anti-war, anti-nuclear foreign-policy, predicated on the reduction of the military, the eradication of nuclear weapons and an overconfidence in the power of his personality, as if belief in change alone could somehow transform international politics, achieve nuclear-weapons disarmament." In his book, Corsi asserts that "Obama embraces a 'no nukes,' antiwar, antimilitary posture that places him even further left than Senator George McGovern." But contrary to Corsi's characterization of Obama's views on nuclear weapons as far left, in an essay, published in the January 4, 2007, Wall Street Journal, former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and George Shultz, Hoover Institution senior fellow William J. Perry, and former Sen. Sam Nunn (D-GA) proposed nuclear weapons policies similar to those Corsi quotes Obama supporting.

Corsi baselessly suggests that Obama's father, Barack Obama Sr., may have divorced his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, "following the prescripts of Islamic sharia law

On Pages 49-50, Corsi falsely claims that Obama did not dedicate Dreams from My Father to his mother or his grandparents.

On Page 129, Corsi falsely claims that Obama "does not mention in his autobiography" that after graduating from Columbia, he "was working as a community organizer out of the Harlem campus of the City College of New York." Corsi writes:

And it goes on like this for awhile...really explosive stuff, as you can see.

Do you have a source that isn't hopelessly compromised in terms of its objectivity? Media Matters dines at the George Soros teat, and Soros ... well, he is on the left all the things people on this board say Rupert Murdoch is on the right.

Let's sum up what's in the book.

    - He's a liberal
    - He's inexperienced and dangerous
    - He's a radical Muslim
    - He hates America
    - He used drugs
    - He was in Rev. Wright's church

Why bother reading the book when you get the same shit off Sean Hannity's show every day?

If you're already going to vote against Obama and are looking for a book to explain yourself to others, there are better books out there. Corsi is a nutjob. He said Obama would allow mothers to abort their babies after they were born. Uh, yeah, right.
Corsi's book is political porn meant to feed the prurient needs of some on the right.

Why doesn't the left come up with smear books during election years?

Gore might be ending his second term is the left and its controlled media were as prolific smearing others. B/c the fact that a book, regardless of merit, is published makes it news. These jackasses get all over TV and the candidates are forced to defend allegations that don't pass the smell test.

Kerry - not a war hero. W - AWOL from silver spoon unit of national guard.

I don't believe a word of what Corsi writes or says. He's nuttier than a Payday bar.

I would think that anyone who doubts Obama dedicated his book to his mother or grandparents could easily find the truth. All they would need to do is go to their library and look in the front part of Obama's book.

But that would take some thought, and a little work, you know.

Glad to be wrong. I just missed his tour of CNN, Fox and the major networks.

But, a common motto in political circles - never murder someone who is committing suicide. McCain's campaign is silly, inconsistent and flailing.

If the Dems would have selected anyone with a legit resume this thing would be OVER. Imagine if a Dem with House, Governor and energy experience would have run. Imagine if that someone was a minority.

Imagine if Dem voters weren't overwhelmed by the MSM's affection of Hillary and Obama and we would be cheering Pres. Bill Richardson.

This is why I am not a Democrat. To quote Ice Cube, I'm too f'n broke to be Republican but the far left won't accept someone like Mark Warner b/c he's a governor who is pro-life and pro-gun but is CENTRIST and wouldn't mess with his Dem Congress by championing the reversal of Roe V Wade.

Richardson is the best candidate available but the Money and the Media don't go to Dem Governors. Senators are in constant fundraising mode and it's the death of real Democratic choice.

BTW - why is Michael Moore relevant now? He hasn't done anything high-profile politically since 2004.

Because it appears that Michael Moore and Mr. Corsi have the same problem in knowing fact and fiction.
