PERRIS (CNS) - Four former professional baseball players and an active one are slated to turn out Saturday for the grand opening of an outdoor venue in Perris Valley that has major league features.
The $25 million Big League Dreams Sports Park at 2155 Trumble Road, near Mapes Road, was completed late last year after 17 months of construction and years of planning.
Former Anaheim Angels Wallace Keith "Wally" Joyner and Troy Eugene Percival are expected at the official opening Saturday, along with former Dodger Darrell Thomas, former Red Sox player Jeremy Giambi and his brother, Jason, who currently plays first base for the Colorado Rockies.

 

George Gershwin and his lovely wife Ira think newspapers do silly things sometimes with the names of celebrities and siblings.

 

Zeppo Marx will be attending, along with his three brothers.

 

And what's with using Joyner and Percival's full names? Bet they haven't been referred to that way since their moms were calling them inside at dark ...

 

As will Vince and Dom Dimaggio and their other brother.

 

Exactly what I thought. Who the fuck is calling an almost 50-year-old Wally Joyner "Wallace Keith Joyner?"

Also, how the fuck is Wally Joyner turning 50 this year?

 

Donnie Ray Moore will not be attending.

 

Nate Mathers and his brother Marshall will also not be in attendance.
