His doesn't count anymore. Only went eight innings.

Though I do wonder whether the White Sox' 4 runs in that game represent the most a team has scored in a game without an RBI.

They took it away after the fact? That sucks, in a way, for Andy Hawkins.

Matt Young in 1992, I believe.

It was cleared out with all the others that got cleared out in 1991. Harvey Haddix, etc.

Something I didn't know until just now: In his next start, he pitched 11 innings of shutout ball against the Twins before allowing two in the 12th. And in his next start, the Yankees were on the short end of six no-hit innings by Melido Perez of ... the Chicago White Sox.

Matt Young's was eight innings as well.

Only pitcher to throw an official no-hitter and lose was Houston's Ken Johnson in 1964.

I hope the Angels win this and keep the no-hitter alive. Aren't they the last team to throw a combined no-hitter? Mark Langston and Mike Witt, I think?

So he gets penalized because he just so happened to be on the road and losing? He finished a full game as scheduled...why take it away?

I'm pretty sure Kent Mercker was in on one with the Braves.

The Astros had like six guys throw one against the Yankees, I believe...

    EDIT: Yep...June 11, 2003 at the Stadium: Oswalt (1 IP), Munro (2 2/3), Saarloos (1 1/3), Lidge (2), Dotel (1) and Wagner (1). IIRC, Dotel had 4 K's that inning, too.

Nope. The Astros' six-pitcher fiasco against the Yankees in 03.

Steve Barber and Stu Miller combined on the only other official losing no-hitter.
