Apparently nearly died after complications from routine back surgery:

I hate the term "routine surgery"

I had a cousin who nearly died as a baby having ear tubes put in. Granted that was 40 years ago, but you can believe that was in the back of my mind when both of my kids had that surgery.

Yeah, I only used the term "routine" because Glazer did in a direct quote. But any time they have to put you to sleep, it's not really routine.

Every "routine" procedure has the chance, however small, of complications ... as Jay Glazer found out.

    Glad he's back.

Don't really like the guy, but respect his reporting and I'm glad he made it. Damn.
