  1. What are your thoughts on this movie? I love it -- think it's one of the great war movies, and the defining WM of my generation...

    I just watched the scene where the old marine gets on the bus...his acting is unreal -- if it's acting...

    Loved it. Course, the fact Jake's half-naked in most of it doesn't hurt.

    But I really liked Saarsgaard in it.

    Yeah, Saarsgaard is amazing. He's one of my favorite actors: Garden State, Shattered Glass, Jarhead...damn

    Read the book. It's a decent movie, but a better book.

    Only thing good about the movie is the soundtrack. Swofford is nothing but a malcontent and a disgrace to the Marines.

    You want to read about a real marine read Marine Corp Sniper - the story of Carlos Hathcock.
