Jake Arrieta: HOF?

    And threw more than 160 innings in the main seven years of his career just three times. And in that seven-year stretch struck out just 817 and walked 437 in 1,268 innings. Even looking at him through the view from the 70s and 80s you have to really stretch to see a HOF path.

    Gullett did have that one top-10 finish in ERA, sixth place.

    Tough blow to Arrieta's HOF chances today, what with giving up four runs in fewer than four innings today.

    Yeah, between Sale and Arrieta, he has suddenly seen the first week of August 2032 open up on his social calendar.

    Gullett isn't a great analogy for a career arc similar to Kershaw's, but 105 wins by age 26 is pretty damn impressive, though playing for a team like the Reds of the 1970s mighta helped
