How dare you put Rush into a sentence with those two hack bands!

A friend just sent me this link: http://www.simplifymedia.com/

It's a plug-in that allows you to share your iTunes library with friends over teh interwebs. Haven't tried it yet, but I thought there might be some interest here.

Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer your library from one computer to another without having to reload everything?

I just got a new laptop and am dreading having to do it song by song and figured there has to be an easier way.

Are you working with a Mac or PC?

There is an export library feature built right in to iTunes, but it makes you burn CDs upon CDs of your music. If you've got a lot, you'll go through a 50-pack of those suckers in no time.

Apple provides this lengthy solution: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329

I'm not dealing with that yet, but I have a Mac and I know I'm going to have to deal with it at some point.

Perhaps including a lesson for Macphiles would help?

It's the same solution, FT. The link provides instructions for both.

Basically all you need to know is you find the directory with all your music and copy it over to your new computer. Voila!
