With every post, it becomes more and more obvious that those on the left have no idea why companies exist and what keeps them existing.

There are plenty of profitable companies that treat their employees well. It's not an either/or situation.

Sure, companies should treat their employees well. If they don't, they lose the good ones. But that's not what we're talking about.

There are also profitable companies where executive don't try to suck every dollar of profit, nor do the shareholders expect the executives to do that.

It seems Costco is doing OK with profit not being the sole goal of the company.

Then you have clowns like this stock analyst who seems to be a POS who would advocate a bowl of rotten rice as the only company benefit if she got her way. (It's from 2007, but typifies what is wrong with liberalism.)

Yes, that's exactly what those people were talking about.

And those on the right have no reason why nations exist and what keeps them existing.

    It isn't maximizing corporate profits.

Although, as the corporatist Supreme Court has informed us, "corporations are people too."

Always figured Starman as having a pretty hefty atavistic streak, but never figured him for a mercantilist ... That went out of style in the 18th century. Always thought he was waaaaaaay too hip for that.

Well, this is why adding a new computer, machine, truck, etc. can be better for business than an employee. You know what you're getting. A computer, or machine, or website can work 24 hours. They behave the same way every time.

Employees bring a lot of variables and hidden costs.

For the most part, if a company "treats their employees well", it's because it's good for business.

Companies treat their delivery trucks well too. Not because they love them, but because they want to get the most out of them.

And executives wonder why they aren't beloved by the masses. Employees should be grateful to get a paycheck.

But then when people are treated poorly, it's because it's good for business (the bottom line) too.

They're not seeking love, and I doubt they're surprised.

And, people think I'm defending companies. I'm not.

But, you're better off if you understand how they work.
