    The night ed at the paper I used to work at could not understand why you would never say "John Smith had four RBI's"

    FYI, there is no listing in the AP Stylebook for pitcher's mound, but that's my style for it.

    Maybe because the Stylebook suggests "RBIs" without the apostrophe.

    Sometimes, I'll catch myself writing "tackles for a loss." But usually, "tackles for loss" if I just say "10 tackles for loss" but "tackles for losses" if I say something like "10 tackles for 50 yards in losses."
