This cannot be true.

One out of every three (or close enough) Americans think we need an armed revolution? Really? Or did the "might be" verbiage skew the results? That would be fairly ridiculous.

it would not have happened if private ownership of firearms was prohibited or licensing requirements for gun ownership were established, like a driver's license.

You cannot say this with absolute certainty, and prohibiting private ownership will never happen nationwide. Ever, despite the anti-gun idealists' wettest dreams. So that's a moot point.

"Licensing requirements" like with a driver's license also would not have prevented this. A lot of stupid, careless, reckless people get a driver's license and are behind the wheel of vehicles.


The death of this child by gunshot would not have happened if the negligent parents had put it in a locked safe and not left a loaded firearm within reach of a 5-year old.

 

If only they were trained and monitored as part of the well regulated militia prescribed by the Constitution.
