I met him at a Devil Rays game about 8-9 years ago and he couldn't have been a nicer person. Granted, we were two of about 5000 in the stands but we talked about almost everything during the nine innings. From his days at Detroit, the death of Terry Duerod, his short NBA stint to both our families.

His act has worn thin but the man is a good person with a good heart who gives back a lot.

 

I don't think Dickie V has ever met a stranger.
