There have been far too many umpires in MLB that teams have bitched about getting rid of for so damn long, that all of this with Hochuli is merely a blip on the screen.

I didn't know that Jerry Jones got bagged for $25k for blasting Hochuli. Mark Cuban thinks that's a weak ass fine.

    Code:
ESPN's John Clayton reports this is not the end for Ed Hochuli.

  5. I just saw Hochuli and his pythons on TV a couple of hours ago. He seemed fine to me.

no effin' way. the nfl wants their refs bending over backwards to protect QBs. hochuli's call will not be frowned upon.

  7. If Jeff Triplette is still around, Hochuli is safe.

It's the good ol' boys club. He isn't going anywhere.

    Ahem.

Julius Peppers offered his .02 on the hit. John Fox did not because he didn't get a really good look at the play.

It was questionable at best. But while the Panthers didn't get the score, it didn't hurt them. Really overdone.

Ed Hochuli is a stand-up guy. He took every verbal bullet for the blunder in Denver ... only to have the faceless robots in the league office tell him to stop. I don't think he was correct on the call involving Peppers and Matt Ryan. But officials are human, too.
