I like Rece Davis, but my best friend in college did marry his sister.

I like Rece Davis because he's not a schtick guy.

Same for Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit.

Think Van Pelt was terrific on golf, unbearable as an anchor.

It's cool around here to pan ESPN, and I have as much disdain for Berman, Stuey, etc., as anybody. But there plenty of things on it that I enjoy.

Not since Vince McMahon got involved.

Oh, the WWL? How could you not love cute cuddly panda bears?

Oh, ESPN? I'm sure there's someone I like but that would involve actual research.

The E-Ticket lately has had some good journalism. I realize that's not a person but it's the only thing I've liked from the WWL in the last five years, aside from OTL before it went nightly.

In particular, this week's "20 years later" on the Miami-Penn State Fiesta Bowl was great work, tying it to the ultimate formation of the BCS. Kathryn Bertine's "So You Want to be an Olympian" series has been a fun read, too.

Narratives, people. Tell me a damned story and make me think. I realize I'm in the minority but that's all I'm asking for.

Gotta throw up some props to Buccigross. He's a class act, on and off the air.

henry, are they paying you to advertise?

    No particular order:

    Chris Fowler
Tom Jackson - especially when ripping Irvin
Ric Bucher - when not bowing to Kobe
    Jim Rome
Tiki Barber - not there yet, like him already
    Rece Davis
John Clayton - nerdy, but informed
    Dan Patrick
    Corso - gulp
    Beano Cook - unintentional comedy
    Vitale - gulp
    Bob Ley

    Absolutely can't stand
    Salisbury
    Michael Smith
    Bayless
    SAS
    Berman
    Stuart Scott

(surely there are some I'm forgetting on both ends)

Total class act. A pro's pro. Whatever else we might disagree on hh, couldn't agree more with you here.

The E-Ticket has been tremendous lately, yes. Bringing in Wright Thompson and using a steady stream of good freelancers has been a very good move to bump the literacy of ESPN.com.

As for TV, I never watch the channel anymore, but count in the group that has always liked Bob Ley and detested Chris Berman.

I did think it was funny that board fave Bob Ley mentioned he's a regular reader of board nemesis Mike Lupica.

I actually like Cowherd's show ... talks a lot of college football and seems like a guy who would hang out here.

John Clayton is one of the nicest, least pretentious guys you'll ever meet.
