Is there a place in the Hall for this man?

Well, a big man grabbing a rebound and making an outlet pass usually leads to someone else getting an assist.

Rodman is in but Buck Williams is not?

Drip, who would you take? Buck or Dennis?

I know you are far from the only person who does this, but man do I hate that argument. It really doesn't show much respect for the people who disagree with you. It is as if you are saying that you can be unbiased and they can't. There are legitimate arguments against Rodman as a Hall of Famer that have nothing to do with his goofy behavior.

A rebounding machine who was one of the key figures of his sport. His induction is fine with me. If Sabonis can go in, he sure in the hell can.

Good one here to debate. I loved Buck Williams. But he was a different type of rebounder. He had the big body and boxed out well. Rodman was a human pogo stick. Rodman wins because he could go back up quicker.
I've been tussling in my mind was Rodman better than Moses Malone? Moses wins that one because, especially in his younger days, he was just like Rodman as a rebounder.

I couldn't believe my eyes when one of the so-called major sports web sites asked if Reggie Miller warranted Hall of Fame consideration.

    First ballot, no argument.

Rodman? What the hell for? So someone could enter the NBA HoF wearing a dress and pumps? Seriously, anyone more noted for what they did off the field than on is a clear-cut no.

Rodman may be a freak but in his prime, he played well enough to deserve the honor. Apparently, others think so too.

This is an utterly bizarre thread.

Dennis Rodman won the rebounding title 7 years in a row. He is a 2-time defensive player of the year. He was a key part of 5 NBA championships. Yes, he's a dickhead. He also belongs in the Hall of Fame. Dude was 6'6" and won 7 rebounding titles?

As for Reggie Miller... All he did was score, but his career scoring average was 18 points a game. He averaged a whopping 3 assists and 3 rebounds (and he's taller than Rodman). Reggie's mystique is built on a few games in Madison Square Garden. He wasn't that good.

There is absolutely no serious argument to be made that Reggie Miller is first ballot and Dennis Rodman doesn't deserve consideration. None.

Except that one (Miller) in many ways changed the way the game is played. When one thinks of 3-point specialists, Miller's name comes to the top.

I think it's bizarre to make the case for Rodman by accusing another player of being one-dimensional.

No, he didn't change the game. He took a lot of threes, but he isn't even top 20 for percentage. He isn't even tops among TNT announcers -- Kenny Smith had a better 3 point percentage.

There were damn good 3 point shooters before him and after him. He didn't change the game one iota.

Meanwhile, you could definitely argue that the Pistons' defensive style changed the game, and Rodman was their best defensive player.

They are both fully qualified for the Hall of Pretty Good.
