I find myself saying no worries all the time now unless I really think about it and then I say you're welcome. Don't know if the no worries came from being around Aussie journalists/tennis players or from being located so close to Canada now. Either way, I think it connotes a nice response. It's like, I won't worry at all about doing you a favor.

I've got No Problem with No Worries, or even, You Bet.

They're all placeholder phrases, as Buck said. So long as the intent behind them is genuine, the words really don't matter.

My mother used to respond to "thanks" with "you're welks."

Shit, you people are fighting about "you're welcome" and "no problem?"

Take notice for a few days how many men will walk in front of the women they are with or will enter the room before a woman. And I don't just mean to hold a door open.

I will admit, a good southern boy I work with has got me hooked on saying ma'am and sir to freeking everyone I randomly meet in public.

Every few weeks it hits me, out of nowhere, that I wish I'd answered my father with "no, sir" and "yes, sir" more often. I really do think of that.

And I even say it from time and time, then kick myself. :)

That just made me laugh really hard. I can't tell you why. But it did.

    Don't hear "Thanks" either.

We probaly here a lot of "no worries" out in these parts because of all of the Aussies that come thru here.
