Oh, and since when did Lorne Michaels start writing for the AP?

Is hyper the new way to say "Nervous and on the verge on tears"?

    I found Fallon's monologue very hack-ish.

I remember him as being weird and somewhat uncomfortable in front of a camera, but his odd sense of humor was what I enjoyed. I don't remember him doing hack material (at first - since he landed the Tonight Show he's dumbed his material down a bit).

and I was somewhat disappointed to learn that Timberlake's funniest bit, the Michael McDonald impression, was a paid-for thing for Bud Lime.

Appreciate the thread, since I missed it and was curious as to how it went.

Flipped between Kimmel and late-night Family Guy reruns. Kimmel had Evangeline Lilly of Lost, The newest bachelor, and New Kids on the Block. Then I watched my DVD of The Right Stuff (the astronaut movie).

"(Fallon) has the mind of a 5-year-old, and I'll bet he was glad to get rid of it".

Privileged, arrogant putz. A Hindenberg landing is precisely what he deserves.

Carson.... please don't equate the putz after Fallon with the greatest of all time.

What am I missing? Why is that in quotes?

I would have taken a chance on a person such as Willie Geist before Fallon.

Guy brings the funny. He'd need a sidekick, though.

How about Horatio Sanz as sidekick? That would bring the show the needed comic energy.

That's exactly the sort of bizarre selection Fallon has been.
