Notre Dame has hired Ron Powlus as its new quarterbacks coach.

More proof that those who can't, teach.

That he's been hired to tutor an overhyped QB prospect is too rich for words.

He's been there for a couple of years, as some sort of "personnel development" assistant coach. He just got promoted to QB coach. Equally bullshit job. Everyone knows Charlie's the quarterbacks coach.

Hmmm, hope his office is big enough for those Heismans he'll be toting with him...

    Arrrrrgh ... too harsh.

Not Powlus' fault Beano set him up for failure. He had a solid college career.

    TD passes:

    Freshman: 19
    Sophomore: 12
    Junior: 12
    Senior: 9

Wrong way on an ordinary street.

Solid. That is questionable at best. Powlus was at the helm when the ship began to take water.

  11. Shottie, I know you like to stick up for your Pennsylvania guys, and being someone who used to work in the state, I enjoy your insights on many of them.

But Ron Powlus never did anything, and it's a stretch to even call him solid.

True, Beano didn't help. But Powlus did zilch in South Bend.

No more of a stretch than to think Notre Dame will be a midwestern power.
