Yes, they do. And I love all the different flavo(u)r varieties.

We have a Dublin-style fish and chip place nearby, run by a guy from Donegal who has a few other restaurants in town (this is his pet project). It's pricy for what you get, especially if you compare it to prices across the water, but it's still bang-on. And they have Club, Tayto, Ballygowan, Iron Bru, etc.

Fish and Chips is definitely a safe way to go over there...

Eating in Ireland is like eating anywhere else. Your best bet is to consider what the city, region, country is noted for in terms of food products and choose accordingly. Fish and potatoes are what Ireland is noted for. Just like if you're in Providence, Rhode Island and don't eat Italian, you haven't played the percentages at all.

I was just thinking that we had ZERO problem finding food over there. Always ate local, always tried something different. I think only one place really sucked. Others were decent.

The breakfast at the B and B were fantastic. Black and white pudding, yum!

Absolutely no better hangover remedy than a big Irish breakfast.

If memory serves, that was the one meal they did pretty well.

Yeah, there's a lot going on there.

  9. An Australian tourism rep once characterized American tourists thusly:

"They can be in the most beautiful place in the world, but their main concerns will be the hotel room and the food."
