I need a recommendation on a good FM transmitter for my iPod. I don't remember the brand of the one I have, but I don't like it. I don't feel like it transmits well.

    Ideas?

Mine doesn't, either. Especially when I'm in town or near big power lines.

Sometimes, the underlying radio station will take over.

I have the Griffin iTrip and it's worked really well for me so far.

Here's mine. It sucks. Avoid it.

  5. I have a "Griffin Technology 4030-ROAD RoadTrip FM Transmitter&Auto Charger and Cradle for iPod" that I got on Amazon for about 50. I've been pretty happy with it.

http://fmchannel.sirius.com/ can get you the clearest frequencies for fm transmitters to work off of. That's a part of it.

That's the one I currently have (though I have it in white) and I concur with your assessment.

If you go to Circuit City or Best Buy, they will install a cable for you that will run through your car and charge your iPod while you listen to it.

That's pretty awesome. Turns out the one they recommend in Austin is the one I've been using.

I actually got 2 for xmas, this one and the Griffin which I kept. I'm really glad I kept the one I have after hearing that this one sucks.

I heard it's something like $30 or so, but you do need to have an updated CD player.
