Discussion in 'Journalism Jobs' started by Treadly Doright, May 21, 2013.

  1. I know this is a little bit of an odd posting on this board, but I came through the newspaper/magazine route to work in PR with the World of Outlaws racing series and I know there are a lot of skilled people here with many talents. We are a racing sanctioning body based in Concord, N.C., in need of a website builder/manager. Our sites are designed and built in-house, using Joomla CMS.

    Here's the job description (posted at http://www.WRGJobs.com):

    We are searching for a creative and talented person to lead our Joomla-based interactive media efforts. This is a full-time, year-round employee position based in Concord, NC.

    * Create and manage ad-hoc websites for our partners as needed
    * Research and develop creative and cost-effective solutions for technical obstacles
    * Partner with internal and external teammates to develop, troubleshoot and oversee web-based activities
    * Proactively research and execute new media projects that enhance the end-user experience
    * Other duties as assigned

    Skills:
    * Strong knowledge of and experience working in Joomla-based content management systems (v1.5-3.0)
    * Working knowledge of Google advertising programs
    * Familiarity with the Adobe family of applications, including Photoshop
    * Interest and familiarity with motorsports helpful
    * Able to make strategic decisions and execute them to success
    * Able to apply technical knowledge within real-world constraints
    * Able and willing to work extended hours when necessary
    * Proven record of successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously
    * Able to work in a team environment while working independently as needed

    Feel free to message me with any questions. The person in this role was with us for six years and decided to move back to the midwest to be closer to family.
