Inquirer writer accused of plagiarism

    Kevin is a good guy. He made a mistake. He's paying for it. Hopefully, this will not cost him employment. It's not the worst thing that I've seen done in this profession.

    I've seen scribes steal information right off another scribe's notebook and passed it off as original. That, to me is worse than anything Kevin did.

    henryhenry, I'm not saying there aren't shades of gray, but the way you seem to be saying, "No big deal, whatever, life goes on" isn't really working for me.

    Nah, I have to agree with the hardliners. Even leaving aside the ethical problems, plagiarism involves a lack of common sense and pretty basic laziness.

    I'm personally mystified by this "one mistake" business. It's not like he transposed words. Unless we're missing something, he purposely lifted something somebody else wrote. On purpose.

    I'm not even saying he should be fired either. But this isn't a typo. Let's just make that distinction.
